Parron Hall’s history has roots back to 1947, and this week the company celebrated it’s 70th Anniversary on August 6th. While the Herr family has been in the industry for four generations, Jim Herr joined the company in 1978 and in 1988 assumed control from his father, becoming the second generation in ownership of the company. Under Jim Herr’s leadership, Parron Hall has grown from $6 million in annual sales to sales between $30 and $40 million in recent years.
Parron Hall was originally on 7th Avenue and moved to the corner of 2nd and “C”, now the current home of the Civic Center. From there, Parron Hall was located at 820 West Ash Street (pictured) for 58 years, also known as the A-1 Globe Flour Mill, and was a well-established and distinguished presence in the downtown area. The building was extensively renovated, preserving the historical architecture and has since been designated as San Diego’s 257th Historic Site.
In 2005, Parron Hall relocated to 7700 Ronson Road in Kearny Mesa. The central location and the new facility better positioned the dealership to serve the growth of San Diego County and its surrounding communities.
A move down the street to 9655 Granite Ridge Drive in 2015 enables Parron Hall to continue to serve our community with an updated showroom that implements state of the art technology and the latest design developments in workplace solutions.
After nearly 70 years of being in business, Parron Hall continues to grow and thrive and is recognized as one of San Diego’s largest privately owned companies by the San Diego Business Journal. Furthermore, Parron Hall is one of Knoll and DIRTT’s premier dealerships in the country.
Parron Hall’s continued growth is the result of listening to their customers and responding to their ever-changing needs, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. They are grounded in these qualities which keep them growing, forward thinking and always prepared to provide solutions quickly.
Staying nimble and “out of the box” fuels Parron Hall’s ability to serve their customers and focus on innovation – we think the next 70 years of enhancing work environments will be even more exciting than the last!
